Thanks for the advice Nathan - hadn't really thought of employing a script library in this instance - I might try and revisit the app at some stage and put that in place. BTW - it wasn't really you I was having a go at; I normally find your comments in threads most constructive; I just hate it when people jump in feet first to have a go without knowing all the facts, like two of the others in this thread I probably don't need to name.
